A Chjiana Da Spiranza

Reception and integration in the Plain of Gioia Tauro are at the core of A Chjiana Da Spiranza, a photographic project created for Caritas Italiana and the Ragusa Fotografia Festival and later presented as an exhibition. The work portrays the daily lives of migrant workers, largely from Sub-Saharan Africa, employed in seasonal agricultural labor within a context marked by hardship and labor exploitation.

Through portraits and personal testimonies, the project restores visibility and dignity to people who are often overlooked, shifting the focus from living conditions alone to their stories, hopes, and desire for redemption. The exhibition thus becomes a space for encounter and reflection, giving a face and a voice to those living on the margins, and acknowledging their human and social role within the territory.
