Hiatus is a video installation and exhibition created as part of the literary festival Writers #3, a gathering that brings together writers, poets, actors, photographers, and musicians in an informal atmosphere dedicated to sharing passions and fostering a joyful cross-pollination between genres and disciplines.

Now in its fourth edition, the festival traditionally features an alternation of thematic panels, intimate dialogues, screenings, and concerts, led by more than 50 prominent figures from the Italian cultural scene.

Within the context of Writers #3, Hiatus emerges as a visual experiment—a game, a technological mantra, and a stream of image fragments portraying writers, musicians, artists, poets, and journalists. Each participant was invited to define and redefine, in front of the camera, their personal idea of “pause.” The result is a kaleidoscope of faces and reflections, now presented in a collective, choral form.
